Sophie Rachlin (Austria), piano

Born in Lithuania, Sophie Rachlin graduated from the St. Petersburg Conservatory where she received a diploma in conducting and piano.

Since 1978 she has been living with her family in Vienna, where she teaches piano and accompaniment at the Konservatorium Wien Privatuniversität. Apart from accompanying in various competitions, such as Jean Sibelius in Helsinki, Queen Elizabeth in Brussels, Paganini in Genoa, and David Oistrakh in Moscow. Sophie Rachlin mainly appears as a chamber musician.

She has played concerts in Austria, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Norway, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, Japan, Russia, USA, and more. She has appeared at festivals in Dubrovnik, Bergen, Utrecht, Portogruaro, and Pernegg, along with illustrious partners such as Julian Rachlin, Janine Jansen, Yuri Bashmet, Mischa Maisky, Martin Fröst, Lawrence Power, Wiener Virtuosen (members of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra), and others.

Sophie Rachlin has appeared in many radio, TV, and CD productions.
